Private Oboe Lessons
Susan is accepting students for private lessons.
Rates are:
$30 for an approximately 45 minute lesson.
All lessons are given in the shop - in the basement of my home - in Falls Church, VA.Reeds:
Susan usually makes reeds for her students. They receive one reed a month. Additional reeds are $10 each.
Scheduling:
I like to schedule each lesson week to week. Which means that the student and the student's parent brings their schedule to their lesson and we schedule the next lesson then. This means that most of my students do not have a set time each week for their lesson. This method has worked very well for me and my students for quite a few years.Although I am probably more forgiving about last-minute lesson cancellations than many teachers, if I feel that a student is doing this to excess, I will insist on 24 hour notice for rescheduling. If the lesson is cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled time, the lesson must be paid for regardless.
I love when my student's parents stay for their child's lesson. I have comfy chairs here for just that purpose. I believe that many parents like to see and hear their child's progress week to week. However, for multi-tasking moms & dads, we are close enough to the 7 Corners shopping center for you to slip away and run a few errands durng the lesson. There is a Shopper's Food Warehouse, Michael's Crafts, Barnes & Noble, Home Depot, G Street Fabrics, Broadway Shoes, Ross Dress for Less, a UPS Store and a Starbucks if you would like to shop while you wait.
